DWHL is an inclusive women’s hockey league that welcomes all women, including transgender women as well as non-binary individuals. We recognize and value the rich diversity of gender identity within our community. While DWHL is not a coed league, our goal is to foster a respectful and supportive environment for players who identify with and feel at home in a women-centered space. Player participation is reserved for those whose identities align with our mission of maintaining a women-focused playing experience. However, we warmly welcome individuals of all gender identities in non-playing roles such as coaching, officiating, scorekeeping, and volunteering. DWHL is a Zero-Tolerance Community DWHL is a recreational league built on community, inclusivity, and a shared love of the game. Our focus is on creating a supportive, respectful environment — not on engaging in broader political or cultural debates about gender in sports. We ask all members to honor this intention and contribute to a welcoming and positive atmosphere. We are firmly committed to providing a safe and inclusive space for everyone involved in our league. DWHL maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or disrespect of any kind. This includes — but is not limited to — any comments or behavior that target a person’s gender identity, sexuality, or gender expression. Every member of our community — players, coaches, officials, and volunteers — deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected, both on and off the ice.

DWHL has a zero-refund policy. However, players may request refunds for extenuating circumstances, such as a season ending injury or pregnancy, by emailing info@dwhl.org. Refunds will be granted on a case-by-case basis and are at the sole discretion of the Executive Board. Approved refunds will be prorated based on the date of the request and how far into the season we are.
