August 18, 2010REGISTRATION NOW OPEN - FALL MIXED LEAGUE!
REGISTRATION FOR 2010 DWHL FALL LEAGUE

Season begins week of September 7th, 2010.

  • League Details:
    • 14-week season (10 regular season games, 2 practices, AND at least 2 playoff games per team -- total number of games depends on number of teams; at least one game per week.) Start times for games are between 9:00-10:30 pm. The league tries to get ice times as early as possible. Please check the website often for games times. GAME TIMES MAY CHANGE ONCE THE YOUTH LEAGUES HAVE ENDED.
    • $225 per skater, includes 5 free games for subbing (with 3 or more teams). (New subbing policy and details will be released soon). We are limiting the rosters to 13 players each (12 skaters and 1 Goalie). All games will have a limit of 13 skaters per bench. In the event that there are not enough registered skaters to field more than 2 teams, then the max number of skaters per team will be increased at the Board's discretion.
    • Registration Deadline is Wednesday, September 1st, 2010.
    • No charge for goalies.
    • Game nights and times are subject to change due to availability of ice at Apex. Games are currently scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please check the schedule frequently online to determine if there is a game on any given night.
  • USAHockey-Certified CIHRA Referees
  • Scorekeepers
  • Each team will have a dedicated Coach for the season
  • Non-rostered, DWHL members may sub for a $20 drop-in fee (subbing rules & availability apply).

GET REGISTERED!

Payment for the 2010 Fall League is due by September 1st. You will be notified of your team placement prior to the 1st game, if registration and payment is received on time. If your payment is received after September 1st, you will be notified of your team placement upon receipt, assuming there is still space available. Please indicate team preference on your registration form.

GOALIE Registrations: Currently the DWHL assigns goalies to teams on a first-registered, first-served basis.

TEAM AND PLAYER PREFERENCES: Please indicate any preference and/or any special requests on registration form at THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. Every effort will be made to accommodate special requests, however, final team formations will be determined by the coaching staff and DWHL Board of Directors.

The teams and team names can only be determined by the number of registrations and are not always known upfront. Also the coaches will be determined by the number of teams as well. Therefore, it is easier for us to honor preferences such as being on a team with a specific player or more. But if you have a coach or team preference, please let us know your first and second request. For instance if you carpool with someone and would like to be on the same team with one or more players, but don't care which team, be specific about it in the notes of your registration. Not all preferences can be honored, but we try to accommodate as many as we can while being fair with team placement.

About the League:

  • This Fall League will be open to all women players. Teams are formed with our best effort to ensure a fair, competitive environment for all teams and players. Players may need to be moved to ensure a more equal playing field for the teams if necessary. Players who register or sub in the 2010 Fall League who are deemed to be playing with a style of play that interferes with other player's ability to learn (overly aggressive or hindering team play) will be removed from the league and their league fees will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. Marcus Scarafoni, DWHL Director of Hockey Operations, or Sabrina Becker, DWHL Coach Coordinator, will make these decisions and notify the player after efforts have been made to rectify the situation. Their decisions are final and are not subject to appeal.
  • The DWHL promotes a fun, learning, safe environment for all players. All players must register as individuals.
  • A team preference MUST be submitted during registration, but placement on that team is not guaranteed.
  • All players must be DWHL members and registered with USA Hockey for the 2010/2011 season and must provide the DWHL their USAH registration confirmation. (See below for more info) Players must also have a current waiver form on file with the DWHL. Click here for the DWHL wavier form.

All USA Hockey Rules and DWHL Rules and Regulations apply and can be provided upon request.

    May 7, 2010Open Board Positions
Attention DWHL Members: The Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony is fast approaching, and along with that comes ELECTION TIME for positions on the DWHL Board of Directors! This year, we have 6 open positions: • President - incumbent is not running; no current candidates (Must have served a 2 year term on the board previously). • Treasurer - incumbent is running again • Director of Scheduling - incumbent is not running; no current candidates • Director of Membership, Registration - incumbent is running again • Director of Team Relations, Intermediate - incumbent is running again • Director of Internet Operations* - incumbent is not running; 2 current candidates If you would like to be a big part of running the DWHL, please consider running for one of these positions! All you have to do is express interest by dropping us an e-mail at info@dwhl.org - we will contact you with further info and details. Also, if you know someone who would be perfect for one of these spots but may need a little nudge, let us know that too! Imagine how good your resume will look when you can add: “Member of Board of Directors for a Non-Profit Corporation”!! Plus, how good will you feel to be able to give back to the sport that has given you so much!?! The time requirements for these positions vary greatly by the time of the year. Sometimes we go many weeks without much activity at all, and then league registration will start and we may get quite busy for a few weeks. We have Board meetings once every 6-8 weeks and those generally last 3 hours. We do a lot of work and decision-making via e-mail. If you averaged out the weekly work load, it’s really less than 2 hours a week but that really ebbs and flows considerably throughout the year. 2 hours a week – heck, you can do that instead of surfing the web at work and still spend the same amount of time not working Many of our past and present Board members are married, have children, travel for work, go to school, care for elderly parents, and lead very hectic lives, and still manage to keep the league running – you can do it, too! Please let us know by May 15th if you are interested in running for any of these positions. A brief description of the responsibilities of each position is included (but not limited to) the text below. In addition to the duties mentioned below for each position, the following are duties shared by all board members: • Check-in duties for camps and practices • Registration & team formation at start of leagues • Check-in at start of leagues (1st week only) • Attendance at all regular and special Board meetings (usually 1 every 4 to 6 weeks) • Status reports at all regular and special Board meetings • Communication with the Board • Communication with members • Post files to DWHL Executive Yahoo group • Retain existing members • Recruit new members • Contribute to DWHL Policies & Procedures • Action Items as assigned • Must be computer literate; most of the work we do is via e-mail or website usage and we utilize spreadsheets extensively for planning purposes President According to the by-laws, “The President shall be elected for a term of one year and shall hold office until the respective successors are duly elected and qualified.” In addition, “in the case of the President, such person also shall have previously served a minimum of one term as a member of the Board of Directors.” • League strategy and direction • Tie breaking vote during voting • Presides over meetings • Long-term growth plan • Oversee day-to-day operations • Assist other Board members • Maintain file of board members and their dates of service • Board member contact file • Outreach committee liaison Treasurer • Report Financials to Board/membership • Posting all payments • Paying all expenses • Reconciling cash accounts • Filing Form 990 and 1064 • Sending Form 1099's • Credit card and payment strategy • DWHL mailbox Director of Scheduling • Game scheduling • Ice schedule • Referee schedule • Scorekeeper schedule and coordination • Bench coach schedule • Game score sheets • Communicate with head coach on schedules Director of Membership, Registration • Maintain master membership list • Membership and waiver forms – process all forms received from the web site • Contact new members • Respond to requests from interested people • Collect all attendance and check-in forms for games, practices and camps • Recruiting • Gear Bank coordination • Retain and track all USA Hockey membership information Director of Team Relations, Intermediate • Team Captain Coordination (Captains Packets, Communication) • Jerseys (Tracking Inventory, Coordinating Assignment of Numbers) • Team Rosters • Track Sub Sign-In Sheets • List of Players and Assigned Division • Coach Feedback and Survey • Update stats on DWHL website Director of Internet Operations* • Update, maintain and correct problems in the DWHL web site • Setup each new league on the website and load all rosters & schedules • Create new web content and functionality as requested • Ensure all hosting and DNS expenses are paid as needed • Maintain the e-mail accounts for the league • YahooGroups coordination – create, provide technical assistance • Create Registration forms and automation of registration • Surveys • Provide technical advice * The current Director of Internet Operations built our website 100% from scratch using the coding and scripting languages php, JavaScript, HTML and SQL. We realize that not everyone is technical enough to take over this work completely, but may still be interested in taking over the less technical aspects. Therefore, the incumbent has committed to stay on the Board in a non-voting role in order to keep the website current – she will work closely with the newly-appointed board member to resolve any website issues & defects, build new functionality, etc, leaving the less technical work to the new person. Alternatively, the newly-appointed Board member may wish to build a whole new site themselves, outsource the site (pending Board approval), or she may be technical enough to support the site; in these cases, the incumbent would stay on as long as needed and would then release the position to the new person. See you on the ice! DWHL Board of Directors

April 17, 2010DWHL Spring Mixed League Standings for Playoffs
    • Royals 14 pts (win by goal differential in all games played)
    • Vics 14 pts
    • Nordiques 11 pts
    • Bombers 9 pts
    • Northstars 7 pts
    • Jets 5 pts

    The tiebreaker goes:

  • Head to head competition between the tied teams.
  • Goal differential amongst the tied teams. A maximum of 6 goals per game will be used for this formula.
  • Goal differential in all games played. A maximum of 6 goals per game will be used for this formula.
  • The fewest total number of penalties in games between the tied teams.
  • The fewest number of penalties in all games played.
  • The fewest number of penalty minutes in the games between the tied teams.
  • The fewest penalty minutes in all games played.

  • Vics and Royals are tied in points, tied in head to head with each other, and tied in goal differential in head to head.  That puts us to goal differential for all games played.  Vics have +9 and Royals have +12.  Therefore Royals get the number 1 seed.

March 11, 2010DWHL Policy on Youth Players
Occasionally, the DWHL gets requests from our members to allow youth players (under 18) to play in our leagues and camps. DWHL policy is that no players under the age of 18 - regardless of experience, skill level, waiver, or relationship to our members - is allowed to participate as a player in our leagues or camps.

Per USA Hockey rules, which can be found on their website, no youth players are allowed to play in adult leagues. Special waivers can be obtained through USA Hockey, but are extremely rare and require very special circumstances. Even if a special waiver was obtained from USA Hockey, which is unlikely, the DWHL would not be able to accommodate that youth player due to additional screening requirements. Youth players would either need to be guaranteed their own locker room, or every member of the DWHL would need to be screened with a background check, which would require an immense amount of work and be extremely cost prohibitive. Neither of these options are feasible for the DWHL, even a rare case where a youth player was granted a waiver.

Players under 18 are encouraged to try the Arvada Hockey Association or the Colorado Girls Select Hockey program. They offer hockey opportunities for girls up to 19 years of age.

January 19, 2010Important rule changes this season, PLEASE READ.

Important rule changes this season, PLEASE READ

    • Rostered players must be at the rink and checked in 10 minutes before game time. If a rostered player knows they will be late, they must contact their coach or team coordinator prior to game time to let them know they will be there. If they are not there 10 minutes before hand, and did not contact the coach or team coordinator, and there is a waiting list for the subs, they will not have a spot that game.

    • We must have all players checked in 10 minutes before game time. Since we have a male coach this season, it is going to be very important to respect this rule. The coaching staff needs 10 minutes prior to game time to discuss strategy and other team issues.

    • The earliest time available to be put on the sub list is 1 hour before the game. Anyone there in advance of 1 hour will all be marked as being there exactly one hour before the game and will be considered arriving at the same time as anyone else who arrived one hour or before. The rest of the subs will be placed on the list on a first come first serve basis after anyone that arrived 1 hour or prior. Subs will still be selected on a first come, first serve basis by the coaching staff. If players arrive at the same time – coach's will place those name in a hat and draw randomly for any remaining sub spots.

    • Subs are responsible for giving the scorekeepers their information (team and jersey number) prior to the start of each game. If a sub fails to do this and is subsequently not given credit on the score sheet/website for a goal or assist, there will be no changes made after the fact to the score-sheet and/or the online scoreboard and statistics.

    • If any player feels they should be given credit for a goal that was noted wrong on the official score sheet, she can take the issue to the team coach. The coach has 24 hours to email any goal corrections to the Board liaison. The determinations made by the referees for assists are final. The referee staff gets paid to make such calls, and the league will respect those calls as final. The board strives to keep the player stats accurate, but constant changes to the stats is time-consuming for a volunteer staff, which is why a process has been put in place this season.

January 17, 2010Changes to the DWHL online registration form
    Ladies –

Some changes have been made to the DWHL online registration form that I wanted to make you aware of. These changes are in place now.

    • When you register for ANY events that require you to be USA Hockey registered, you will be required to enter your USA Hockey confirmation number onto the form before you can register for the event. Most of the on-ice events thru the DWHL require USA Hockey*, so keep your number handy! This change was made due to the overwhelming amount of work it is for our volunteer staff to confirm each person who skates with us. If you are having trouble locating your USA Hockey confirmation number, you may e-mail us at info@dwhl.org and we can help you. I recommend that you locate your number ASAP so you have it handy the next time you register.
    • We will no longer ask you for your date of birth when you register for any events. Since your USA Hockey confirmation verifies that you are over 18, we do not need to collect it separately. The date of birth has also been removed from the new member sign up form and the change membership form.
Please contact me if you have any questions.

    See you on the ice!

    Beth Young
    DWHL Director of Internet Operations

    * Note: USA Hockey is the governing body for amateur ice hockey in the United States. Among many other things, they carry insurance that individuals can apply for in the event of on-ice injury. We have to ensure that all players are USA Hockey registered for the safety of all of our members. We thank you for your understanding and patience. You can read about all of the benefits of USA Hockey membership here: http://www.usahockey.com/Template_Usahockey.aspx?NAV=ME&id=29048

    January 12, 2010Fall Season Awards & Accomplishments
    Untitled Document

Thank you to all of our players and coaches who made our Fall 2009 season exciting!  This season we had a nail biter championship game, a 0 to 0 tie going in to overtime and finally decided in a shoot out – congratulations to both the Nordiques and the Jets for a great effort in that game, and to the Nordiques for a well earned win.  Our other teams had great seasons as well, with the Vics (Lindsay) and the Royals (Robin) topping the scoring points chart and the Northstars (Erin) following close behind.  In the goalie race, all of our goalies posted impressive save percentages and goals against averages – Renae Binstock led with a 0.33 GAA and 0.979 save percentage, and all of our goalies had save percentages above 90%!  Great job to our goalies and our defense.

Listed below are the awards, as voted by your coaches, for the Fall season.  Each team had three awards to give:

Sportsmanship Award goes to the player that exemplifies one of the most important aspects of the game, sportsmanship both on and off the ice – showing respect for the game, other players, coaches, and officials while remaining competitive for their team.

Most Improved Player goes to the player that a coach deems has improved their hockey skills the most throughout the season.  This award shows dedication to learning the game and enthusiasm to practice what you have learned until you have it down!

Most Valuable Player goes to the player that has been dedicated to the growth of the team throughout the season and who is an essential part of the team’s success.  This player is a team leader in good and bad times, always finding a way to help the team through action or words.

January 8, 2010Fall 2009 Championship Game Summary & Thank You to BelaHockey!

The DWHL has been in existence since 2000.  This coming year is our 10th anniversary.  We are excited about what has been created, and the bright future of the organization.  Currently, in a given year, we support 16 teams across 3 seasons and 3 divisions including novice/intermediate, intermediate/advanced, and a mixed division.  We also support 2 WACH (Women’s Association of Colorado Hockey) competitive teams.

The BelaHockey Granato Cup is now the official cup of the mixed division.  This season, two teams vied for the championship and only one could come out on top.

After suffering defeat in the championship game last season in a shootout, The Nordiques came back hungrier and more determined than ever to return and play again for the Championship. With eight returning players and the addition of several key players, The Nordiques again captured the number one seed during the regular season. Led by Captains Jules Harral and Adri Larsen, the team focused on puck possession and won their playoff game 2-0 against the 5th Place Royals to get back to the one game that this team focused on all season. Coach Jen Rieske was excited for another opportunity to win the big game, "I’ve played on or coached this team in several Championship games, and I look forward to getting the "Big Red back on top" said coach Rieske prior to the big game. With the solid goaltending of Renae Binstock and stout defense led by Amber Farris, this team was ready to roll!!!

The Jets had a very different road to the Championship game.  The season itself was plagued with injuries and work commitments.  Often times, only a few Jets were at the regular season games, and subs made up the rest of the bench.  It was difficult to find that team chemistry they needed when very few team members played together during the regular season.  Before the playoffs, the Jets were in 3rd place.  All five teams were in the playoffs and all five had a chance to take the championship.  The Jets first playoff game arrived, but for playoffs, subbing is never allowed.  So, still riddled with injuries and work commitments, six skaters and the ever faithful goalie set out to win their first playoff game.  Veterans Andrea Steinle and Sarah Martin played solid defense for nearly the entire game.  Newcomers Laurid Broughton and Leanne Siefford came to nearly every game and improved dramatically to play a big role in the Jets fate.  Courtney Gulden shined by playing nearly every position shift to shift.

The Jets played the fourth place Northstars and did what they set out to do.  They played their hearts out and dominated the game.  Their passes were incredible.  They controlled the puck the majority of the time and only allowed 3 shots on goal (some say 3 was a generous number).  They took 21 SOG and created many more chances than that.  Center Jodi Kiefer capitalized on 3 of the shots and the solid goaltending of Alicia Speakman helped the team take the win (3-0).  Winning the first playoff game allowed the Jets to play the Victorias (2nd place team).  The winner would on to the Championship game and the loser to the consolation.  Again, with the same 6 skaters and goalie, the team faced a more difficult challenge.  Again, they played amazing as a team, and shut out the Victorias 3-0.

The Jets and Nordiques met in the finals of the 2009 Fall Mixed Division.  They both wanted the win very badly and it showed.  It was a well played, hard fought game.  In regulation time, neither team let the other score.  It was 0 – 0 going into overtime.  Both teams had some nail biting opportunities and again, both teams held each other scoreless in OT.  Adri Larsen and Amber Farris came up big for the Nordiques by scoring in the shootout, helping the team take the championship.

So this year the winner of the cup is the Nordiques, and we are onto a Spring season starting next month where the previous players, and hopefully some new ones will vie for the cup again.  The wonderful thing about the DWHL is that the players have many opportunities to play and learn together.  It’s not just one team winning each season.  Many players sub in each other’s games, and really, it’s one big team working together to learn, love and play the game of hockey.

Thank you again for your generous donation.  The winner of each mixed division season will get their names engraved on the base of the trophy.  The current base will last for 6 seasons (about 3 years) and is set up so that in the future, the DWHL can add tiers for additional seasons.  Attached are some pictures of the Trophy and the winning team.  Enjoy, and thanks for being a part of our tradition that will go on for years to come.

Congratulations to Sabrina Becker and the Northstars for their victory in the championship game against the Nordiques! After one overtime, it came down to a shootout! It was an exciting game! This season seemed to be especially special for all players, as it was the first time teams had scheduled practices. We got some great feedback about team practices, and it seemed to really build rapport between our teams and coach's.

Also, don't forget that registration is now open for the 2009 Fall League! Make sure to register before August 31st, and spread the word to all your friends that newbie's are welcome! The more players we have, the more subbing opportunities that are available!

The future of hockey has a name: MyTotalHockey.com. This innovative online platform tracks and records player performance at leading hockey-specific training facilities, skills competitions and special hockey events.

When athletes train at a Total Hockey Training Systems facility or have a facility test their on-ice skills, players are given a swipe card that records performance data and automatically uploads this data to MyTotalHockey.com. Players can access this website from any computer and track their progress and compare their performance to other players of the same age.

March 13, 2009Next DWHL Skills Camp at Apex starts March 22
Our next three week camp will have a focus on the art of stickhandling and shooting. Passing and shooting situations will also be incorporated to make situations more “game like.” Participants will walk away with a greater sense of control over the puck on the stick and protecting it from the opposition— allowing for better passing and scoring opportunities on the ice for yourself and your team. High percentage shooting lanes (key areas of the ice to shoot from) will be covered and should become more evident in games as well as after this camp. Sign-up today through the DWHL Events page and reserve your spot!

March 2, 2009Spring League Team Formation and Schedule
If you have registered for the Spring league, your team assignment is listed below. If you have not sent payment, we need to receive it by tomorrow. PayPal is available through the website. If you have any questions or concerns with your payment, please let us know as soon as possible.

The schedule is also listed below. All Thursday games are currently set for 9:00 PM. We do not know the time for our Tuesday time slot yet, but should be before 10:00 PM and we will have that time finalized this week.

Since this is a short season, you will not need to purchase a new jersey. Many of you have jerseys for the teams you are on. If you don’t, we will be utilizing sub jerseys to fill in for the season and may require a small deposit for any borrowed jerseys. If you have a jersey for a team you are not on (Jets, Nordiques, Northstars, Royals) and would be willing to trade it or sell it, please bring it to your first game and we can do a bit of a jersey swap.

Thanks to all of you on behalf of the DWHL. We are very excited to have four teams this Spring and to see so many new people joining the league. Have a safe, fun season. If you have any questions, please ask your coaches, team coordinators or board members. Team Coordinators are highlighted in blue. If you are interested in being a team coordinator for the Northstars or the Royals, let us know. You get a discount :-). The easiest way to reach us is through our info e-mail at info@dwhl.org.

    February 26, 2009Avalanche Ticket Auction
    Great news, hockey fans!!

An anonymous donation has been made to the DWHL by one of our members! This donation is for 3 sets of Avalanche tickets to be auctioned off (each as a separate auction).

The donor has requested that all proceeds be used to purchase an advertisement in a local newspaper or hockey magazine for the purpose of attracting new members in time for our summer league. This request is consistent with the feedback that we heard from you, our members, in our end-of-season survey – “we need more members"!!!

The seats are great- Section 146, Row 14, Seats 1 and 2. Check it out: lower level, attack twice zone, 2 seats together on the aisle, right on the face-off dot, 14 rows off the glass. Sweet!

Face value of each set of tickets is $231 ($111 per seat, plus a $9 VIP Lot A parking pass). The auction will start at $50 per set. Bidding is open now and will close at 10:00:00pm MT on March 7, 2009.

Please follow these links to bid on the tickets:

The DWHL will contact the winning bidder at the end of the auction. Payment and delivery will be worked out at that time. If, for any reason, the winning bidder does not come thru with the payment, the tickets will be sold to the next highest bidder.

The DWHL is not taking any overhead expenses out of the proceeds - 100% of the sale price will be used for advertising as requested.

October 20, 2008Website moved to a new hosting company
On Oct 20th, we moved our website to a new hosting company (HostMonster).

The main reason that we chose to switch hosting companies is because of the enormous amount of downtime that we experienced with our old hosting company, as many of you can attest to. HostMonster has been rated very well in the industry and is known for excellent uptime and customer service.

Additionally, this new hosting company is a much better deal for the DWHL in terms of disk usage and bandwidth offerings, and you should see improved time for page loading and general navigation within our site.

When we moved the website we also had to re-point the domain name (URL) from the old servers to the new servers. This is a process that can take up to 48 hours to completely propagate throughout the Internet. During this process, you might hit the old site one day, and then a couple of hours later you will hit the new site and this could go back-and-forth for up to 48 hours until it stabilizes. We ask for your patience and understanding during this process with hope that things will improve greatly once we get to the new servers!

Rest assured that we will continue to monitor the website for excessive unplanned downtime and will act accordingly. We want you to be able to access the site as much as possible and keep up with all things hockey-related!

October 17, 2008Pepsi Center Skate for DWHL Members Only!
    Ladies-

It is that time of year again for our Pepsi Center Skate! The first skate of the year will be a pre-game open skate and a post game Limited hockey game skate that we would like to be like an mixed-division type of game. We would like the post game skate to feature a combination of all skill levels (Like we did at the MHMMU Tourney-Novice, Intermediate, & WACH).

    Pre-Game Skate:

What a fun way to involve your family, friends, and co-workers in this activity!! Prior to the Avalanche game, all can skate on the ice at the Pepsi Center from your group!! Obviously they must all bring their own skates. This is a traditional open skate, not a hockey game or stick & puck. But ladies, it doesn't end there! Don't forget to bring your hockey gear for the post-game skate!

    Post Game Skate:

Sign up will be on a first come first serve basis. This will be done via the DWHL website so we have a time and date stamp on it. Please send all sign up on the DWHL website at http://www.dwhl.org/upcomingEventsDetails.php?eventID=206

-Rosters will be capped at 15 skaters and a goalie per team. This will allow for 3 lines of forwards and D. Once rosters are full we will do a wait list in case some one has to drop out.

    Tickets to the Game:

We must sell sixty tickets for it to be a go. So basically you have to buy tickets and get friends, family, co-workers, etc to buy a ticket or two. Last year we averaged 150-170 tickets per skate. (Yes, we rock!)

The link is: www.pepsicenter.com/groups/Avalanche/DWHLAH You can also contact Jason Schofield at 303-405-6182, or via e-mail at jschofield@pepsicenter.com.

If you do not purchase tickets personally, you do not get to skate in the post game skate! Jason will send us a list of who has purchased tickets and who has not. So no cheating! =)

I look forward to another great year with our friendships with the Hockey Guild and the Colorado Avalanche!

    Christina Montoya

    About the League:

This Fall League is open to all Novice and DWHL Intermediate players.  However, please remember this league is geared toward the Novice player. Each player will be evaluated (if not already)  by the coaching staff; while team preferences will be taken into consideration,  the focus is to ensure a fair, competitive environment for all teams and players. Individuals  that have not been evaluated recently by the coaching staff will be evaluated  during the first week of games; if the coaches believe a player may need to be moved to ensure a more equal playing field for the teams, a player will be asked to move to another team (only if necessary).

Players who register or sub in the 2008 Fall League who are deemed to be playing with a style of play that interferes with other player’s ability to learn (overly aggressive) will be removed from the league and their league fees will be refunded on a pro-rated basis.  Marcus Scarafoni, DWHL Director of Hockey Operations, will have the final say on these decisions and notify the player. Removal from the league is not subject to appeal.  The DWHL promotes a fun, learning, safe environment in our league and we strongly recommend that you tryout for any of our WACH teams if you feel that your skill level is such that you would prefer to play in a more advanced or competitive league than what we have described.

All players must register as individuals – a team preference may be submitted during registration, but placement on that team is not guaranteed.  All players must be DWHL members and registered with USA Hockey for the 2008-2009 season and must provide the DWHL their USAH registration confirmation. (See below for more info.)

All USA Hockey Rules and DWHL Rules and Regulations apply and can be provided upon request.  These rules are also available online at:

    September 10, 2008DWHL C team
    Ladies,

I would like to invite our novice players who are ready for a new challenge to sign up on the DWHL website for the new "C" Team. I have heard interest from a number of players but many of you have questions, so I am sending this email to try and address those questions and invite you to email me with other questions. If you are interested in the team, our first practice is on 9/27 at 8:30pm so don't delay!

What exactly is the C Team all about?
The DWHL has heard from our novice players that although they like the in-house league, they would like to have the opportunity to practice, travel, and play other teams from the area without having to tryout for a WACH team. We have heard your requests and formed the C Team to satisfy those with an urge to expand your playing options.

If I play on the C Team do I have to give up the novice league?
You can absolutely play BOTH novice and C Team and we encourage you to take advantage of the different experience of both types of teams.

Will I have enough time to play both novice and C and can I afford it?
This being our first year, we are trying to make the C Team commitment minimal in terms of both time and money so that you can play both C and novice without a huge hit to your pocketbook. If we can get 15 players the cost will only be $150 per player. This includes four 1 hour and 15 minute practices (8:30pm on Saturdays with the first practice on 9/27 at APEX), at least four regulation/refereed games (possible that we could have more depending on the availability of other teams to host us on their home ice), and off-ice instruction from the coaches. This price also includes jerseys.

Am I good enough to play on the C Team?
There is no tryout for this team, we are opening it up to all players who are willing to learn! Even if this is your first year of playing, we invite you to come out and learn, practice, and play with our team. The coaching staff of this team will be focused on teaching team skills and working with the players to better understand things like positioning and zone play along with individual skills.

What will I get on the C Team?
The C Team is offering two full time coaches (Dawn McKnight and Sabrina Becker) who will focus on working with the team both on and off the ice to help players improve their skills. The team will also have structured practices that focus on learning team skills and game situations along with individual skills. Each player will get an individual evaluation by the coaches at the beginning and end of our season to measure your progress. In addition to on-ice practice, the coaches will conduct off-ice instruction for the team that will include chalk talks, game DVD review, information on sports nutrition, and how to effectively work out before a game and during your off ice time. Our goal is to have a minimum of one on-ice event and one off-ice event each month.

I play on a WACH B2 (Spitfires or Firebirds) or B1 (Renegades) team - can I play on the C Team?
Sorry WACH players, this team is geared toward non-WACH players only.

I am so excited to see this team come together because I think we are going to have a great time this season and be able to offer our members something new and exciting to add to your novice experience. In addition to Dawn and myself, we have a number of other coaches who are ready to help with practices and off-ice instruction to make sure that we can offer our team members work in smaller groups and have the opportunity for 1 on 1 interaction. If you have any other questions - please feel free to email me. If you are ready to play - please click here and register for the team (or just click on the C team practice on 9/27 on the schedule on the home page). There is no immediate financial obligation, if you are interested come on out and lets have some fun! I will be sending out specific team information to all those signed up on the website next week so sign up now and get the most out of this inaugural season!

April 1, 2008Team and Individual Photos for Summer League

In order to spruce up our website a bit, the DWHL is proud to announce that we will be taking team and individual photos during the 1st week of summer games (May 5-8)! Team pictures will be posted on our website under the team roster page. With player consent, individual pictures will also be posted online on the player page.

Copies of the digital team pictures will be given to each team member and to each individual as requested via e-mail.

If you are rostered on a team this summer or if you plan to sub, please be ready in your gear 15-20 minutes before game time during the first week to allow time to have your pics taken - and remember not to put your helmet on until after the photo!

P.S. You do not have to have your photo taken if you don't want, so don't stress out about this - BUT this is a great opportunity for some summer team bonding! Meet new teammates, reconnect with old buddies, and come be a part of the DWHL family!

We can't wait to see you on the ice!

      February 13, 2008Pepsi Center Skate
On February 12, several DWHL members got an early Valentines Day present - a chance to skate at the Pepsi Center. Through a program sponsored by the Hockey Guild (www.thehockeyguild.com), 35 ladies of the DWHL were able to play on Pepsi Center ice following an Avalanche game. Excitement was in the air as the group got to the rink early to drop off gear and have dinner before the game started. Although the Avs dropped a close game against the Ducks, not even that could dampen the spirits of the ladies as they were escorted to the NBA visitors locker room to get dressed. Amidst the hum of excitement, teams got ready to play and the countdown clock on the wall told them how much time was left before the zamboni left the ice. With smiles and excitement, the group started the walk down the hall to the bright white ice and one by one stepped out on to the pristine surface for warm up.

Although each member of the team has played many games, this one might as well have been the first. Everyone was checking out the benches, the doors, the logos on the ice and on the boards, and even the penalty box! When the warm up clock ran down, the teams gathered at their benches for the Blue vs. White showdown, each team made up of a mix of the DWHL WACH teams, the Firebirds, Renegades, and Spitfires. Regular season team mates faced off against each other, fans of the team eagerly watched from the stands, and when the puck dropped the game was on! Forgetting regular season alliances, the ladies played their hearts out as the white team took an early 3-0 lead with each goal being announced over the sound system of the Pepsi Center and the horn blaring each time. However, it wasn't long until the Blue team came back to tie the game, and in a show of determination, won the game 6-4 , scoring 2 goals in the final 2 minutes. The white team was shocked, and tried to tally a final point in the last 15 seconds of the game by sending their whole bench on to the ice. However, the Blue team held on and the game came to an end with the traditional handshake at the end of the game. As the teams reluctantly said good bye to the ice at the Pepsi Center, photos were taken and smiles exchanged as they left, knowing this was an experience that would live on in their memory for a life time.

The teams would like to thank our fans that came to watch, Lev and Justin from the Hockey Guild and Jason Schofield from the Colorado Avalanche for making this such a fun night, and Carrie Schultheis for organizing the event. We look forward to the opportunity to offer this experience to all of our DWHL members in the future and encourage everyone to check out all that the Hockey Guild has to offer!

A little over a month has passed and we are getting back to some sense of normalcy in or family. I wanted to write and give an update to all of you who have been wondering/worrying about us. Thank you all for the unconditional love and support we have received over the past couple of months in honor of our daughter Sophia; we have begun the healing process and couldn?t have started it without you all.

Our hockey family has played a key role in keeping us positive and helping us through these tough times. The outpouring of generosity and kindness from the Denver Women?s Hockey League has been remarkable; it has taught us more about the kind of people we aspire to be. This is one of the life lessons we have learned off the ice and it shows us what the sport of ice hockey teaches people. We hope to pass these discoveries and what we have learned onto our son Anthony. We are grateful to each and every team in this association and especially appreciate the patience the organization has had with us over the past two months.

We are undeniably happier today than we were one month ago and every day gets better as we know time will help us heal. Thank you to everyone who has been thinking and praying for us and your support does not go unnoticed.

      Marcus, Lisa & Anthony Scarafoni

      December 17, 2007Sophia Marie Scarafoni
Sophia Marie fought long and hard for 12 full days. She was loved by so many, and prayed for by too many people to count. God was probably tired of hearing her name in prayers sent across the globe. She went very peacefully and got to be held by her Grandmothers, Grandfather and her Aunt Kristie. Although she wasn't able to meet her big brother a picture of him was laid to rest with her. Her Daddy and Momma got to put a gorgeous resting gown on her, it was a beautiful passing.

A service will be held for her:

      Tuesday, December 18th, at 1:00pm
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church
      11385 Grant Drive
      Northglenn, CO 80233
      (303) 452-2041
      http://www.ihmco. org

A reception will follow the service (location to be determined).

      Map to the service

Donations can continue to be made to The Baby Sophie Scarafoni Fund. If you wish to send flowers, they can be sent directly to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Marcus, Lisa and Anthony wish to thank everyone for their strength, love and generosity.

This little note is for Sophia.....

      Sophia,

For so long I hoped, prayed and dreamt of the day you would come to share our lives. Then on the day you were born my heart filled with such joy and love I thought it would burst. We welcomed you into our world and the love that was felt for you was like nothing I have ever known.

In the days following your birth my soul filled with so much fear and worry it seemed it would shatter. Then, after what seemed a lifetime, the day came you were laid on my chest and I felt your tiny heart beat next to mine. We got to share the most special day with you and we will never forget that.

I felt a peace I had never known, I knew our family would be ok. I have already learned so much about life from you. You taught me every moment is precious, every soul should be cherished, prayers are answered and miracles do happen. You also taught me that life is so quickly taken from us and that heaven needs more angels like you. Rest in peace my sweet daughter.

I want to thank you for choosing your father and me to be blessed with your short presence.

      Love Forever,
      Momma

      The Baby Sophie Scarafoni Fund

Coach Marcus Scarafoni and his wife, Lisa, and son, Anthony, welcomed Sophie into the world at 4:57 am on December 3rd. Sophie, being so anxious to hit the ice like her mom, dad and big brother, came a bit too early. 15 weeks, to be exact and weighed only 1.9lbs. She's doing well under the care of doctors and nurses at University Hospital and the family is keeping their spirits up.

Marcus has been a steadfast supporter and part of the leadership team with the DWHL from the beginnings of the League. He is known throughout the hockey community from youth through adult leagues.

A fund has been set up to help the Scarafoni Family defray some of the exorbitant medical costs yet to come. The DWHL will be accepting donations on behalf of the Scarafoni Family and will forward the funds on to them.

With Christmas fast approaching, some may find it difficult to find anything to spare. However, any contribution, large or small will help. You may make contributions with a credit card through PayPal or with a check or money order sent to the DWHL.

Thank you for your support and well wishes for Baby Sophie!

      July 27, 2007CYHF Hockey Equipment Sale - August 4th
Hi Hockey Players of all ages!

I have attached an invitation to an event where there will be all sorts of hockey equipment on sale at greatly reduced prices. The CYHF has sponsored many hockey players, including women in the Colorado area. This is a great way to get some inexpensive hockey gear and help support an organization that is helping our own.

I have been sorting through all the equipment for the sale and you would not believe all the stuff there is. It is brand new, lots of adult sizes too so send the invitation out to your adult hockey players too! There are tons of breezers, shin guards, goalie pads (mostly smaller sizes but might work for short adults), chest protectors, shoulder pads and mounds of skates.

Hockey Equipment Sale benefiting the Colorado Youth Hockey Foundation. All equipment is new and varies in size and colors, however, please do not call with questions about the equipment because there is too much to list.

The event is open to the public on Saturday, August 4, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Boulder Valley Ice at Superior, 125 Superior Plaza Way, Superior, CO 80027

July 25, 2007Mile High Mountain Matchup
      Attention All DWHL Members:

As you know we are hosting the 4th annual Mile High Mountain Match Up August 31- September 3 at the APEX. We need your help to make this the best tournament yet. Below is a number of ways in which you can help and give back to your favorite hockey league.

      • Raffle donations: We will be doing a silent auction and a raffle to raise money to support future DWHL programs and tournaments. No item is too small so be creative and use your contacts and donate what ever you can. Last year we received hockey sticks, bags, lessons, gift certificates to local businesses, and other items from Coors and Molson. This was a huge hit and raises a ton of money; we would like to do the same this year!!
      • Money: We will take all cash donations. This will go towards snacks and beverages for the players. No amount is too small.
        • Checks should be made out to the DWHL
        • Donations can be given to any board member or anyone that is on the tournament committee (Carrie Schultheis, Chris Montoya, Beth Young, Mary Lindgren, Judy McNeish, Becky Greengas, Jodie Whitehead, and Jen Rieske) or mailed to

          DWHL
          PO Box 16356
          Golden, CO 80402

      • Time: We need people who can help out before and after the tournament.
        • Before the tournament we will need people to help pick up donations and help with putting together the items to be raffled or auctioned off
        • During the tournament we will need people to check in teams, score keep, and generally help out where it is needed.
Please e-mail us at tournament@dwhl.org with how you plan to help out. If you know of anybody that we should contact for a donation let us know. No donation is too small, every little bit helps!!

There are still spots open on the DWHL Rockies team so if you haven't signed up yet, go to the web site www.DWHL.org to sign up and make sure you get to skate in the tournament.

      Thank you and happy skating,

      Jen Rieske
      Tournament Director

      Jodie Whitehead
      Coordinator

Schedule - Currently, we do not have confirmation on exact ice times. If you are interested in playing, you will need to be somewhat flexible due to the limited ice that is available during the fall/winter season. In general, you should plan on:

Season length ? September to late March, early April
Weeknight practices with start times similar to DWHL game times ? likely after 10:00pm.
Weekend games with home games at APEX and away games that are usually in the Denver area or along the Front Range, with an occasional trip up to the mountains. Games are usually Friday and Saturday evenings with some day games on Saturday and Sunday.
Approximately 15 to 20 games and about 20 practices throughout the season. This generally equates to 5 to 6 events a month. Some weeks will be very light and others may have two games and a practice. We try to spread it out as much as possible, but WACH determines the game schedule and they are limited by each team?s home ice availability.

Alternates and Goalies - Both B2 teams will consist of 15 full time players and 2 alternates. The B1 team will not have alternates this season. Their will be 15 full time players. Each team will have one designated goalie, and possibly 1 alternate goalie. All subbing for B1 and goalies will be determined by the coaches.

      Cost
Cost is estimated to be in the range of $550 to $600 for full time players with a payment plan throughout the season. Final cost to be determined.
Cost is estimated to be in the range of $350 to $400 for Alternates and Goalies
Jersey deposit is required for all players - $100 total; $20 will be kept for jersey usage fee.
Their will be additional fees for socks, as well as food and lodging at away games (not often), and for tournaments
Warm-ups will be available for an additional cost for anyone that would like to purchase one.

June 21, 2007DWHL Team Systems with Small Games
      Sundays, July 8, 15, 22, & 29, 2007
(Please note: No Camp on 7/1)

      Presented By the DWHL
      Apex Ice Center, Arvada
      7:30 ? 8:30 pm

Our next DWHL camp will focus on giving players the opportunity to learn more about positional play on the ice & in game situations. We will focus on the defensive, neutral, & offensive zone areas of the ice.

Topics of discussion will be the options a player has when the puck is in a particular area. Drills will be formulated in accordance with systems of the game to give the player a better idea of what to look for in a game situation.

There will also be an emphasis on the skills and techniques needed such as stick skills, and passing & shooting to make each player reach their full potential. Small games will be incorporated to each session to allow players to think on their own and try some things they are learning in the camp and may be able to use in game situations.

      Players can look forward to:
? Defensive zone position & breakout
      ? Neutral zone positioning & re-grouping
? Offensive zone entry & setup
? Offensive zone forecheck & support
? Powerplay and penalty kill situations
? Face-off situations in all zones

Session 1: Defensive & Neutral Zone Topics
      Session 2: Offensive Zone Topics
Session 3: Special Teams & Forechecking
      Session 4: Face-offs & Scrimmage

I look forward to seeing you there,

      June 19, 2007Scorekeepers Needed!
The DWHL is in need of scorekeepers for the end of this season and the upcoming Fall/Winter season.

Whether you'd like to scorekeep one game a week or one game a season we could use your help.

The league pays you $15 (should defray the cost of gas:) and it takes about an hour and a half of your time.

Don't worry if you've never done it - you can come to a game and train, and there's always a cheat sheet in the box. If you're interested in helping out now or getting your name on the list for next season give me a call or send me an e-mail.

      Thanks everyone,

April 8, 2007Easter Puck Hunt Game- Cancellation
Due to the holiday the Apex is closed on April 8th, the day of the scheduled Hockey game. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

April 3, 2007Fall/Winter League Champions - The Northstars!!
The Championship game for the Fall/Winter DWHL league took place on March 28th with the Cinderella story Jets taking on the Northstars. With the McNeish Cup on the line for the winner, the Jets (who had an impressive run to the finals, fighting their way to the finals after ending 4th place in the regular season) faced off against the regular season 2nd place Northstars. With the stands full of fans, the puck dropped and the game was on.

The Jets continued their goal scoring streak with a goal in the first minute of the game by Tracy Wolf and followed up with a second soon after by Carrie Schultheis with an assist to Becky Greengas. However, the Northstars found their own goal scoring streak when Jen Farrar scored twice (with assists to Jodie Whitehead and Lori Couch) to tie the game up at 2-2 to end the first period. The second period saw another Jets rally, taking the score to 4-2 in favor of the girls in blue thanks to goals by Carrie Schultheis and Tracy Wolf from Gwen Stuckey. The Northstars faced a deep deficit but fought back to within a goal when Jen Farrar found the net again to cap her hat trick for the game. The Northstars tightened up their defense and in the third period and Jodie Whitehead found the net to tie the game at 4-4. With only minutes remaining in the third, the Jets came back again on a goal by Gwen Stuckey from Tracy Wolf to put the score at 5-4, and it looked like victory was close. With only 30 seconds remaining in the game, the Northstars Courtney Nugent led her team into the offensive zone and put one home, tying the game at 5-5 to force a shoot out to determine the winner. At the end of the game, both goalies had stayed strong in the net, each turning away 25 shots and now ready to face up to 5 shooters each in the OT shootout.

The shootout was as exciting as the game, with the Angie Peterson scoring on the Northstars first attempt, but Jets goalie Cat Davis would not allow another goal for the remainder of the shootout. Northstars goalie Melissa Sampson had turned away the first four shooters and faced the Jets final shooter with the weight of the game on both players. In a close call save, Melissa kept the puck out of the net and the Northstars were crowned champions of the Fall/Winter DWHL league.

Both teams played an incredibly strong game and never gave up. Congratulations to all of our teams for a great season and we look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting and on the ice this summer and at camp!

March 16, 2007Summer League, Competitive Division Info
      COMPETITIVE LEAGUE

Building on last year?s summer program, the DWHL is proud to announce the return of the competitive league!! We had some great success in the inaugural season last year. We hope you all can come out and enjoy the league with us. All games will be at APEX in Arvada on Mon or Wed nights starting April 30th.

Do any of you WACH teams want to continue to grow and develop with each other over the summer? Do you have a desire to get a group of friends together to form your own team for the summer? This year we are pleased to offer two competitive divisions in addition to the current novice division. The upper competitive division is at the A/B1 level. The lower competitive division is at the B2 level. This year, the competitive league is being offered for team entries only. There will be no subbing allowed and no individual entries. You get to choose who plays on your team and when. The cost will be one team fee per group. If you choose to carry a small or large roster, that is completely up to you. You must have a minimum of 6 players for each game, so roster accordingly. There will be no coaching provided by the DWHL. You are free to provide your own coach if you so desire.

The competitive league is for EVERYONE! Here are the key points and differences from last year. Anyone can enter a team. Some of the references below are to WACH levels. This is only to give an idea of where your team might fit in best in the league. You do not need to play in WACH, or currently play on any team to enter. You do not have to try out to be in the league. Anyone playing in the competitive division needs to be rostered with a team. Preliminary rosters are due April 8th and rosters will be frozen on April 30th.

RULES FOR PLAYING IN THE NOVICE LEAGUE

If you choose to play with a team in the A/B1 division, you will not be allowed to play in the novice division this summer. In addition, if you have ever played in the intermediate league, or been approved to play in the intermediate league in the past, you will NOT be allowed to play in the novice division this summer. Anyone that wants to play in the B2 division, CAN also play on a team or drop-in to the novice league, as long as you have never played in or been approved to play the intermediate division. Details on the novice league will be sent out shortly. The cost of the novice league is completely separate from the competitive league team fees. If you choose to play in both, you will need to pay for both.

      Here are the details:

      • Open League (Mon or Wed games beginning week of April 30th)
        • 2 divisions (8 teams total)
          • 4-A/B1 ? teams consisting of a combination of players from various levels of play
          • 4-B2 ? teams consisting of mainly B2 level players
        • Team fee: $2100 ($1950 for early registration)
          • PayPal is offered at a higher rate to cover the PayPal fees - $2162 ($2007 for early registration)
        • 10 games plus playoffs
        • Early registration discount payment deadline: March 31st
        • Non discount payment deadline: April 8th
        • Preliminary rosters due: April 8th (need USA Hockey info for all players)
        • Final Roster due: April 30th (Roster will be frozen after this date)
        • No subbing on other teams within the league
        • B2 players (rostered in the Open League) can roster on a team in the Novice League or drop in at Novice League games for $25
        • Only rostered players are allowed to play in games
        • 2 Referees and 1 scorekeeper
        • No Bench Coaches
        • Each team must have similar light and dark jerseys for all players (if you do not have access to similar jerseys, please contact me. We may be able to provide some for a deposit).

To register a team, please go to our website and click the link for ?Competitive League? under Registration forms. I apologize, but the format is usually used for individual registrations and we are using it for team registrations. Please only enter one registration per team. Use the name, e-mail address, and phone number of the team coordinator. Ignore the jersey information section. Select either A2 (A/B1), or B2 for the division you wish to play in. Type your team name and team colors in the comment section. PayPal can be utilized or payment can be mailed in or given to a board member at the rink. Hope to see you all this summer!

December 18, 2006Game Summary Spitfires B2 vs. Fort Collins Flames
On December 8th the Spitfires B2 hosted the Fort Collins Flames for the first meeting of the two teams. With only 7 players on the bench, the Flames played a great game and never let up, but the Spitfires came away with a 4-2 victory. Defenseman Theresa Kollath started the team off with a goal in the first period and followed up with a goal in the second as well. Theresa's shot from the point in the first period worked through traffic and found the far corner of the net and in the second period Theresa and Kim Ammons hooked up a great pass from low in the zone to the point and scored again! The second goal of the game was scored by Angie Peterson off a feed from behind the net from winger Meredith Leyba after hard work from the entire line of Alicia Speakman, Netter Allen, and Mugs McMahon. Scoring was capped off by Lori Couch who charged the net to pick up a rebound of a shot by Netter Allen and buried the puck on this great second effort. The coaching staff compliments the team on their continued effort both in games and practices. Thanks to all of you for your discipline and continued team work!

      December 4, 2006Spitfires B2 Dec 2 Game Summary
On December 2nd the Spitfires traveled to Colorado Springs for their first official game against the Colorado Springs Timberwolves. It was an exciting game all the way through with a scoreless first period. In the second, the Spitfires killed off a penalty to keep the score at a 0-0 tie. Going in to the third period, the game was still tied at 0-0, despite the great effort of the whole team and 19 shots on net. In the third period, defenseman Theresa Kollath made a well executed pass out of the defensive zone to winger Pam Howes, who skated the puck into the offensive zone and found Capitan Scilla Huber in front of the net for the team's first and only goal. The then team rallied to help goalie Dawna Floyd continue her shut-out run and cheered as she turned away 11 shots in the third period to preserve the 1-0 win. Ending the game with 27 shots on net, the team congratulated the Timberwolves and their outstanding goalie on a well played, clean game.

In the first period, Spitfires center Lori Brill picked up a shot from the point and scored the first goal of the game. In the second period, center Kate Griffin took the puck from the neutral zone and used good coverage by her line mates to make her way to the front of the net for a beautiful 5-hole shot that put the Spitfires up 2-0. Spitfires goalie Dawna Floyd carried the team through the third period, stopping a game total 22 shots to end the game with a 2-0 shut-out! It was a great team effort to take home a win at our first home game.

On November 19th the Spitfires traveled to the Chill's home ice. The first period started with a goal by the Chill's Sue Plummer and was answered a few minutes later by Spitfires Lori Brill (now on a two game point streak!). August 1, 2006Northern Lights Team Looking for Players for Upcoming Tournaments
The Northern Lights have been invited back to the Eagle, CO Womens Hockey tournament on October 27-October 30. This tournament is $575 per team, much more affordable than the Pucktoberfest ($750) in the Springs on the same weekend.

I would like to send a team to at least one of these tournaments, or if we have enough interest, I would be happy to organize one for each location.

Pucktoberfest has one spot left for Novice I am told, and the deposit money needs to be turned in now to secure a spot.

SO....Please look at your calendar and let me know ASAP which tournament you would like to play in - and we can see what our interest level is for both of these upcoming tournaments. Don't forget

      Thanks ladies~
